Are You Protected by Angels?

ru protected by angelsMost people believe in angels. We’ve heard stories of people who have seen angels or have sensed their presence or even been rescued from perilous times.

The Bible clearly says that Satan was an angel who wanted the power of God and took many angels with him from heaven. These fallen angels are called demons that roam the earth seeking to destroy the lives of ignorant people through deception, disaster, and distractions to keep them from God.

With that being said, God in His great mercy commands His angels concerning you to guard and protect you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11-13). His angels do not take the form of cherubs and weak women, but they are strong and powerful to lift you up so that no harm will come against you. Yet God’s protection over you comes with a condition.

5 Ways to be Protected by Angels:

  1. Dwell in His presence by spending intimate time with Him (Psalm 91:1, 9).
  2. Proclaim that He is your refuge and your fortress  (Psalm 91:1-2).
  3. Trust God completely with your life to be blessed (Psalm 91:2, Proverbs 3:5-6, Jeremiah 17:7).
  4. Love Jesus with all your heart and you will live (Psalm 91:14, Luke 10:27-28).
  5. Call upon the name of Jesus to be safe (Psalm 91:14, Proverbs 18:10, Luke 10:17, Acts 3:16)

Promise from God

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation” (Psalm 91:14-16).

Dear Mighty God, Thank you for your divine protection and for saving me. Thank you for commanding your angels concerning me as I dwell in your presence, proclaim your power and protection, trust you completely, love Jesus with all of my heart, and call on the name of the Lord. You alone are worthy of all honor, glory, and praise. Protect me from the deception of the evil one who seeks to deceive me by whispering lies. I pray against the enemy who wants to distract me by the ways of this world and wants to destroy me by keeping me from you. Nothing will separate me from your love as I fully devote my life to being in fellowship with you, following after Jesus and serving your people to bring you glory. Thank you for your angels that protect me in Jesus name. Amen.

What about you, have you been protected by God or His angels or know someone who has? Our community would love to hear from you.

Are You Bleeding to Death?

bloodBlood gives life and power to your body. People bleed to death when they lose too much blood. Without blood you are dead and have no life. I discovered the importance of blood a year ago when I was anemic and I had no strength to function properly. After fainting, I was taken to the hospital to get a blood transfusion. The blood poured into my veins intravenously gave me renewed energy. Fortunately, someone gave their blood to save me and give me life.

Jesus gave His blood to save you. By accepting His blood you are transfused to live an abundant life here and into eternity.  Jesus’ blood gives you power to overcome spiritual death. By His blood you are cleansed of all unrighteousness and equipped to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Washed with Jesus blood you will be raised from the dead to live a supernatural life of peace, joy, and power to overcome every obstacle that comes against you, even death.

Jesus rose from the dead. He is alive! You are alive when you are infused by the Holy Spirit, the gift of empowerment after you accept the blood of Jesus poured out for you and you surrender your life to Him.

Promises from God

Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

“Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God” (1 John 5:5).

“And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” (Rev. 12:11).

Praise God

Sing praises to the God who sacrificed His Son to wash you of our sins and give you His power on earth and into eternity to overcome the enemy of this world. Sing “Overcame” by Jeremy Camp:

Prayer to God

All honor and glory and praise be to you our Father and God. Thank you Jesus for your death and resurrection that gives me life. You conquered death. You’re alive! Your blood poured out to give me spiritual life here and everlasting.  Thank you that I am washed clean by your blood. Thank you Jesus that I am alive in you, that I overcame death with the presence of the Holy Spirit when I invited you into my heart. Thank you that I have all power and authority in you through the power of your name, your blood, and the word of my testimony. Use me to overcome the enemy of this world. I surrender my life to you since you gave me life by your blood. Give me supernatural strength to be bold to proclaim your truth to give life to others who are dying without your blood. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Temporary Shouts of Praise

temporary praiseWhen Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey the people waved their palm branches in praise and worship for the miracles He had done, including the recent miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead. Temporarily they believed in the power of God.

People shouted with praise, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel!” (John 12:13)

People eagerly anticipated with shouts of joy what they expected God to do for them as He had promised hundreds of years before. The Messiah was to be a warrior riding on a white horse with glory and power to restore their kingdom. When Jesus failed to overtake the Roman empire in the way and time in which they thought, they turned against Him. Within days, these same people were shouting, “Crucify Him.”

What about you? Do you turn your back on God when He fails to do what you expect of Him in your time frame?

Although God doesn’t answer your prayers in the way you want, that doesn’t mean He is off His throne. He still reigns and rules in all authority and power. He is King of kings and Lord of lords forever and ever. Jesus will return one day on a white horse to restore His kingdom for the people who are faithful to follow Him (Rev. 19:11-16).

Promise from God

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Even when your expectations are not met as planned, God has a plan and a purpose through your pain. He promises to work all your suffering and my suffering together for our good and the good of others. The enemy of this world wants to deceive and destroy you. God is victorious when you continue to love Him whether things go according to your plans.

God loves you. He is for you, not against you. Will you trust Him with your situation? Will you still praise Him, no matter what happens?

Praise for God

Shout to the Lord in all circumstance. Praise God with this worship song by Hillsong United:

Prayer to God

King of kings and Lord of lords, I worship and praise you in all circumstances. Whether in plenty or in need, in sickness or in health, you alone are worthy of all honor, glory and praise. You are my comfort, shelter, refuge, and strength. You God, will someday make all things right. I stand on your promises that bring me hope and comfort in my time of need. Let me continue to praise you and consider every trial joy that I may persevere to become more mature and complete in you and lacking nothing in my character (James 1:2-3). I rejoice with a thankful heart as I continue to call out to you in my struggle knowing that you will give me the peace that transcends all understanding in Christ Jesus. With patient endurance I shout for joy that I might glorify you to those who are watching me during this trial. You are my strength. I will trust you, in Jesus mighty and faithful name I pray. Amen.

Power of Jesus Name

power in the nameWalking in the mountains of Canada with a new friend at a woman’s retreat, we heard a scratching sound. We looked down the gully to see a mother bear on her hind legs, while her cub scurried up a nearby tree.

Since moving to Canada, I had wanted to see a bear in the wild. I know stood motionless as I locked eyes with the bear about forty feet away and marveled at the sight of this amazing creature. My friend nudged me in a panic, “We have to get out of here fast.”

Knowing what I know about the powerful name of Jesus I immediately raised my hands and claimed protection in Jesus name. I repeated over and over, “In Jesus name leave us alone. Jesus protect us.” I turned to my new friend, “Isn’t God amazing? I’ve wanted to see a bear.”

Becky tugged on my shirt, “We should get out of here.”

Slowly we backed up as I continued to call on the name of Jesus, still raising my hands high in the air.

The bear remained with her cub without chasing us down. I’m sure Becky must have thought I was a little crazy, but better crazy than eaten alive by a bear. I think back to that time, with what I now know about bear attacks and realize that Jesus protected us by His powerful name.

In the Bible the apostles had power to preach the word of God with boldness. They healed the sick in Jesus name. All was done to the glory of God through the power of the Holy Spirit that lived in them. We have power available when we invite Jesus into our hearts. We receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Christ lives in us, the hope of glory, (Colossians 1:27).

Do you have the Holy Spirit promised through His word? If you do, fear not but call on the name of Jesus to experience His power, strength and protection in your life. God promises, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10).

If you have never invited Jesus into your life, repent of your sin. Ask Jesus to forgive you, since he took all of your sin and mine upon himself when he was nailed to the cross. He died, went to hell on our behalf, and rose from the dead. He is alive and he gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit to dwell in us for comfort, protection, and guidance.

Say this simple prayer: Dear Jesus, please forgive me for all my wrong doings, for my sin, and for turning away from you. I want you to save me from the eternal consequences of my bad choices. Save me and live in me. Help me to develop a close loving relationship with you. In Jesus name I pray.

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

God says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified or discouraged for I am with you wherever you go.”

1 Thessalonians 3:13
May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

Why Jesus?

At some point in life we question who is God, does He care for me, which religion is right, and is there only one way? I questioned, does God even exist?

I knew Jesus died on a cross. We all know that. In fact, I called myself a Christian. Raised with parents who called themselves Christians, we went to church on and off in my childhood. Yet, I never read my Bible, I rarely prayed, and I never knew why Jesus died on the cross.

We were baptized as a family in my early teens, but my ears and eyes were shut to the message of God preached at my church.

For many people, they seek God after having children. Not me. I never saw the miracle of a newborn baby, emotionally detached after my abortion and being raised by detached parents, I was numb. In fact, my identity was never as a mother, but I found my self-worth in my career. Actually, I followed in my parent’s footsteps.

When I lost my job, I lost my god.

Eventually after thirteen years of marriage my frustration with my husband drove me back to church. I started looking for answers: who is God, does he exist, and can He help me?

Due to some divine encounters I read the Bible for the first time, I attended church, went to a Bible study, and prayed. God opened my eyes and my heart. He revealed Himself in a way that convinced me that we have a God who is personal and He loves me.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. Only through me you can come to the Father.” He was either telling the truth or a lunatic or a liar. Most liars are not considered great people or prophets, yet most people who are not Christians think that Jesus is at the very minimum a great person.

Jesus claimed to be God. He foretold of His death and said He would be raised on the third day. He taught to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and then to love everyone else as we love ourselves.

Salvation is a gift that we don’t deserve.

The Bible says we are saved by the grace of God, not by our achievements. There is no spiritual awakening, no nirvana experience, or anything at all that you or I can do to gain access into heaven.

Jesus left heaven to pay the consequence of your sin and mine by dying on a cross so that we can stand before a Holy God forgiven, unashamed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus. He went to hell for you and me then He conquered death and ascended to heaven to prepare a place for us. Our punishment has been fully paid by His sacrifice. Jesus rose from the dead. He is alive. History proves it, scripture verifies it, and personal experience testifies to it.

Consider that the God of the universe wants to reveal himself to you today. Jesus is a gentleman. He stands at the door of your heart and knocks, (Revelation 3:20). Will you trust Him and invite Him in?

Take a step of faith by saying this simple prayer:
Dear Jesus, Please forgive me of all my sin. Thank you for going to the cross on my behalf and paying the consequence of turning my back on you, living according to my selfish ways, and sinning against you and others. I believe you are the Son of God and I invite you into my heart to live and reign. Please help me develop a close relationship with you by reading the Bible, spending time with you in prayer, and please lead me to a church. In Jesus name I pray.

If you prayed that prayer, congratulation and welcome to the family. You are part of my family now. We all know that spending time with family and friends will strengthen our relationship. The same is true with God. As you spend time in God’s Word and in prayer, your life will change. You will experience His peace, joy, and presence as you seek him with all of your heart. Friend me on Facebook where I post God’s promise daily, and begin to follow and obey His Word. You will be blessed and He will show Himself to you, (John 14:21).

Jesus is alive and He’s with you.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of teh Holy Spirit.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.
