5 Steps to Amazing Peace

5 steps amazing peaceWhat are you afraid of? Maybe you lost your job, your child is addicted to drugs, your spouse is having an affair, or you’ve been diagnosed with cancer?

Whatever your situation, there’s hope.

I’m truly sorry that you’re suffering and that’s why I write to give you hope. Let’s face it, living this life on earth can be extremely difficult. Yet through your struggle, confidently I can say that you can have amazing peace and joy.

During the time my husband was unemployed for a year, through our marriage struggles, when our son had cancer, our teenage daughter was going down a road of destruction, or we moved to a new country, God continued to give me peace when I followed His formula. First, above all else, to obtain peace you must know that God loves you. The only way to know His love is to know His promises.

Promise from God

“The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:7).

5 steps to amazing peace:

  1. Rejoice in Jesus always. (Phil. 4:4)
  2. Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Christ in you, the hope of glory (Phil. 4:5, Col. 1:27)
  3. Do not be anxious about anything, but pray to God with a thankful heart knowing He loves you. He will work it for good, because you love Him and are following Him. (Phil. 4:6, Romans 8:28)
  4. Hold negative thoughts captive to think on God’s promises which are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. (Phil. 4:8)
  5. Confess your sin of worry, fear, pride, bitterness, and doubt to be forgiven and cleansed of all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

You can confidently face each challenge with rejoicing when you know that God loves you. Think about every circumstance as a test of your heart. Do you believe and trust that God loves you?

I’m not saying to allow the bad behavior or circumstance to continue. You still must search for a job, but do it knowing God has a better job for you. Get medical treatment knowing that God uses the doctors and prayer to be glorified through your healing. Boldly speak the truth in love and set up boundaries to protect yourself and your loved ones from the drug user or the spouse having an affair. You have the power of God within you to know what to do and say when you invite Jesus into your heart. The Holy Spirit is your Comforter, Counselor, and Confidence.

The evil of this world (Satan and demonic forces) are waging war against you. God in His infinite love has overcome the evil of this world to be glorified through you.

Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

Are you trusting God in your difficult circumstance? Let’s praise God and pray together.

Praise and Prayer

Father God, you are faithful, sovereign over all, merciful and full of grace, and all-powerful. We praise your holy name, Jesus, thank you for dying for us, for raising from the dead to give us abundant life here and eternal life everlasting. Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit that empowers us when we’re surrendered to you and trusting you with every situation. Lord, you know our pain and suffering. We surrender it to you and ask for your peace and wisdom on what you to say and do. As we trust you and believe that you will guide and direct our path, we will be blessed. We claim your promises. We meditate on your Word not on our circumstances so that we may avoid evil desires and you may be glorified through us. Forgive us of our sin of worry, anxiousness, fear, doubt, pride, and bitterness. These are not of you, but are the ploy of Satan to deceive us, distract us from you, and to destroy us and our relationships. As we confess these sins, you are faithful to forgive us and purify us of all unrighteousness. We rejoice in your love through your Son and your precious promises to have victory over our circumstances for your glory and praise. In the name of Jesus and for His glory we rejoice and pray for the peace that transcends all understanding to guard our heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.
