Need A New Start?

new startWhat? Another year has come and gone. How can this be? Many of you are beating yourself up that you already have failed your resolution this year. But I say it’s a new day.

We all fall short. We get lazy and put off the workout, we over-spend, over-eat, or over-do-it on something. In fact, sometimes life happens to get in the way of accomplishing our goal when we want.

But through it all, God has a perfect plan. He promises that He will work all things together for the good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

That’s the promise I’m claiming after a 16 year journey to accomplish my resolution from years ago.

This years resolution. The same that it’s been, but this time to publish my first book for my 50th birthday, which is on the 17th of this month. I consider it my long-awaited gift to myself and you, that is if you need the tools to love a difficult person in your life.

This journey has come with disappointments, frustrations, and rejection. My unmet commitments impacted the lives of those in my family, my friends, and people who I had promised to help with my book.

I let people down. I let myself down. Yet in the process God was preparing me and shaping me. He wanted to refine me through those failures and disappointments to be a vessel He could use to minister to he hearts of His people.

The unmet expectations in your life are a time of testing of whether you will persevere and run this race to the end not letting your insecurities get in your way, but pushing on to the finish line to complete the goal that God has put on your heart to complete. Whether that is to write a book, lose ten pounds, exercise every day, go back to school, or wake up early to put God first.

It’s a new day. A new beginning. Push on my friend. Don’t give up. Endless possibilities await you with God on your side. Call out in the name of Jesus, for you can do all things through Him who strengthens you (Phil.4:13). God’s timing is perfect. You will accomplish what God equips you to do as you surrender each moment to Him. Trust that He loves you and He is with you. To Him who will do immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine through Him that is at work within you (Ephesians 4:20).

Today’s Prayer:

Dear Father God,
We come before you with pure confidence that you are completely sufficient to accomplish all our needs. For when we are weak we are made strong in Christ Jesus. We surrender our desires and each personal, relational, physical, emotional, financial, educational, and spiritual gaol to You. Thank you that You strengthen us through Christ Jesus to accomplish all that we long to achieve, acquire, and attain for your glory. As we follow you each moment of the day keep us mindful of your presence and power that is available when we call out to you. For it is when we seek you with all of our heart that we experience the plans that you have for us. Give my friend confidence in You today to move toward that resolution as they surrender and seek you in Jesus name.

Loving the Unlovable, Transforming Difficult Relationships With God’s Truth, will be released January 17th. God bless you my friend.
