Are You Lucky?

You got the job! Your stock went up. Your house sold before it foreclosed. Have you ever said the words, I got lucky, when life went your way in the nick of time? Those words drive me crazy. I’m here to tell you there’s no such thing as luck.

Throughout the Bible God’s Word says He is the source of all our blessings. James tells us,  “Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows,” James 1:16-17.

The million dollar jack pot is in His hands and He chooses who to have mercy on. Will  you give credit where credit is due? Praise God for all the gifts He has given you. Thank Him today for the roof over your head, the food on your plate, the clothes on your back, and your job. Do you have a thankful heart for all that God has provided? He may be waiting to pour more blessings upon you after you stop praising “luck” and start praising Him.

“Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart,” Psalm 37:3-4.

How are you trusting God, doing good, and delighting in Him to get the desires of your heart?
