Married to the Man

On Valentine’s Day people of all ages celebrate love. Kindergarten kids exchange cards with red-hot candies and sugar frosted cookies. In middle school, gaga-eyed teens reveal their secret crushes, and then in high school all too often the romance begins with kisses and condoms.  Unfortunately too many people in their twenties and thirties face Valentine’s Day used and abused with STD’s still hoping to finally tie the knot. And when they do, not too far down the road many face a failed marriage or they fight to keep a marriage together based on the wrong foundation. Many long for that Valentine who will mend their broken heart and restore their broken dreams.

Inside and outside of marriage lonely people wait to experience True love. The love that dies to selfish gain and vain conceit, the one who gives with a generous heart, and cherishes us for who we are not what we are expected to be. Accepted, adored, and appreciated as the apple of His eye. A Man came to demonstrate His love for you. True love that will satisfy your longing comes in the form of a relationship with the One who sacrificed all. He endured the beatings, He carried the cross, He poured out His blood, and He paid the price to say I love you.

This day, say yes to the Man who pursues you with an everlasting and unfailing love, the Lover of your soul. He’s your Bridegroom waiting for your hand in marriage. He wants to carry you down the aisle over the threshold into a new and abundant life filled with peace and joy in the midst of your sorrow. He wants to wipe away your tears, to give you the desires of your heart, as you love Him. Stay faithful to Jesus and He will reveal himself in ways you cannot imagine. But you must say yes, take His hand in marriage, and repeat these vows after me:

“I, _____, take you Jesus, to be my wedded Husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, ’till death unites us for eternity. And hereto I pledge my faithfulness to you.”

Congratulations. I now pronounce you married to the Man who satisfies the longing of your heart.

“For your Maker is your husband— the LORD Almighty is his name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth,” Isaiah 54:5.
